Long Time Comming

Since the last post, not much has been done. I have taken the challenge fo painting some 26 warriors by February 15th. All the models are primed and three ready to dip.
We'll see.

Nothing to Show

I did get the Dark elf bolt throwers done, just forgot to take pictures.
Putty on the hydra-that is the main goal for next week. Painting it. The scavenger hunt ends later then I though so have a couple of weeks for the terrain and markers. Although I would like to get them done and out of the way.
With summer teasing an appearance, it will become increasingly difficult to maintain any kind of momentum. With 40K coming to an end in the group - as far as campaign play goes- most of the group will be shifting to FB. I would make the switch, but since it would distract me from the unrealistic goal of once again getting all my stuff painted by the end of the year I will bow out of the next FB campaign.
Yep Ive changed my Hobby-lution this year to once again getting all the nids painted. An almost impossible task since I came up shy with the drop pods and the swarm has reached mammoth proportions.
So next weeks goals will be meek-hydra painted, objective markers ready to paint, oil derrick ready to paint.

Longer then I thought !!

Its has been awhile since last post, Motivation has dropped off sharply as a trade from barter town dragged out. Not knowing exactly the condition of the last trade or if I was even going to get it had halted forward momentum on all fronts.
Now that trades have been completed, I am geared up for some modeling.
Next week I am hopeful to get the rest of the models painted for a fellow gamer, and maybe even get some of my bug squads filled out-warriors built and maybe even a unit of biovores painted.
I find myself a single man again this week end and possible next this should allow plenty of time for modeling/painting.
With this quarter almost gone I will be making an attempt to get "DAS MAHINE" sftware and maybe even running.
No pics of course this week cause I ain't got squat done.

Galvinized steel - not a medium I want to work with.

Most of the week i've put the ol' grey matter to work. Seems I do the best thinking on the tread mill. I was stalled on how to make Old One Eye scabbed up and pitted.
I figured that the regeneration would result in more armor plates then normal, maybe some spikes. I figured that I would be ready to slap some paint on one or the other by the time I posted.
But the house had other plans- I spent the day punching hole in the walls and re-plumbing the kitchen sink. Its hard to keep to the 1/2 when it comes to sculpting.
Seems that it will have to be done on the weeks ends, I guess that other projects can get underway.
I am still in a flip flopping on second army, I want to get away from modeling for gaming. Problem is, I find it hard to find motivation to branch out.
Until next week.

Another week goes by.

The last week was pretty uneventful, I did get the Calderon done but not much else. I painted one of these years ago and forgot what a pain in the but it was.
I did get Old One Eye started, basically just magnetized a Carni, I do plan on spiking him up a but and make him look a bit more battle torn. I was looking at the old pics of him and I forgot what a terrible color scheme they had him painted in, I will try and use some of it in my current scheme but it may take some work. Plan is have him converted this week and ready to paint. I want to also have the Parasite ready to paint also.
Winter is my favorite season. This time of year affords me almost free reign to troll out and hobby my brains out. It also gives me time to think of more and new projects.
The first army I collected was Orks, I feel the pull back to the green savages for the crazy vehicles that can be constructed, maybe the the demon hunters will fade before they have a chance.

New motivation found

Again with a late post. I guess as long as I have stuff to show I'm doing OK. Last time I was in a funk with the motivation, with panting the couple of malafax figs I have gotten a measure of that motivation back.
Next time I feel the crush of boredom of modeling I just have to switch gears and forget for a minute what im doing. I actually enjoyed painting the couple of figs that I did, which in turn got me on the road to converting a Parasite of Mortex for my nids.
In the past conversions have stalled as my interest waned on the project, this one was small enough to capture. That and having a bunch of extra bits with all the trades in the past month or so it all fell into place.
Thing about the nids is that all the special characters have to be scratch built, Old one eye is probable the only one that can be done easily-just a head on a sprue for the most part.
Next weeks goals are simple, finish a Cauldron of Blood and a couple of bolt thrower's for a friends Dark Elf army, and get the second 10 gargoyle's based. That should take up the majority of hobby time. I would also like to get a couple of molds made too - we'll see.

Stagnation setting in.

As I have not posted in a couple of weeks I need to at least keep posting to move on and find motivation. As "Hobby Time" is being followed, it has been taken up by cleaning, basing and taking inventory of what I've gotten in a barter town trade.
My host of bugs has seen a population explosion, with another trade in the wind a second generation will soon be born.
Out of the recent trade a Parasite of Mortex and a Doom of Malanti will be spawned.
With all the Carnifex's now on my shelf I should be able to bring Old one Eye, a couple of Tervigon's and maybe even a Harpy to the table.
As I say all of this I feel that the new influx of models has stalled my progress on moving on with the Chaos horde. As I plug through this feeling I will come out on the other side wanting to more then likely wanting to do bigger bugs.
I plan to take a break this week end and next week to break the chain and get some painting done, some models that I have agreed to paint for one reason or another.
