Galvinized steel - not a medium I want to work with.

Most of the week i've put the ol' grey matter to work. Seems I do the best thinking on the tread mill. I was stalled on how to make Old One Eye scabbed up and pitted.
I figured that the regeneration would result in more armor plates then normal, maybe some spikes. I figured that I would be ready to slap some paint on one or the other by the time I posted.
But the house had other plans- I spent the day punching hole in the walls and re-plumbing the kitchen sink. Its hard to keep to the 1/2 when it comes to sculpting.
Seems that it will have to be done on the weeks ends, I guess that other projects can get underway.
I am still in a flip flopping on second army, I want to get away from modeling for gaming. Problem is, I find it hard to find motivation to branch out.
Until next week.

Another week goes by.

The last week was pretty uneventful, I did get the Calderon done but not much else. I painted one of these years ago and forgot what a pain in the but it was.
I did get Old One Eye started, basically just magnetized a Carni, I do plan on spiking him up a but and make him look a bit more battle torn. I was looking at the old pics of him and I forgot what a terrible color scheme they had him painted in, I will try and use some of it in my current scheme but it may take some work. Plan is have him converted this week and ready to paint. I want to also have the Parasite ready to paint also.
Winter is my favorite season. This time of year affords me almost free reign to troll out and hobby my brains out. It also gives me time to think of more and new projects.
The first army I collected was Orks, I feel the pull back to the green savages for the crazy vehicles that can be constructed, maybe the the demon hunters will fade before they have a chance.

New motivation found

Again with a late post. I guess as long as I have stuff to show I'm doing OK. Last time I was in a funk with the motivation, with panting the couple of malafax figs I have gotten a measure of that motivation back.
Next time I feel the crush of boredom of modeling I just have to switch gears and forget for a minute what im doing. I actually enjoyed painting the couple of figs that I did, which in turn got me on the road to converting a Parasite of Mortex for my nids.
In the past conversions have stalled as my interest waned on the project, this one was small enough to capture. That and having a bunch of extra bits with all the trades in the past month or so it all fell into place.
Thing about the nids is that all the special characters have to be scratch built, Old one eye is probable the only one that can be done easily-just a head on a sprue for the most part.
Next weeks goals are simple, finish a Cauldron of Blood and a couple of bolt thrower's for a friends Dark Elf army, and get the second 10 gargoyle's based. That should take up the majority of hobby time. I would also like to get a couple of molds made too - we'll see.
